She attended Bethel College before moving to Memphis in the late 50s. She began working for Memphis Light Gas & Water where she met Marvin. After they got married, she left MLGW to stay at home and raise Phillip and Sharon. She later worked part-time at Emery Air Freight. Once Marvin retired from MLGW, they moved to their farm in Hollow Rock, TN, and together built their dream home. She was a member of Huntingdon First United Methodist Church. She was an excellent seamstress, loved to crochet, fabulous cook, and so enjoyed her mystery novels.
She leaves behind two children, Sharon Fletcher (James) of Cordova, TN, and Phillip Benson (Cathy) of Horn Lake, MS; and six grandchildren, Anna Favazza, Valerie Favazza, Luigi Favazza, Danielle Benson, Chris Taylor, Lauren Taylor; and five great-grandchildren, Mya Favazza, Wyatt Benson, Keri Watson, Ben Taylor and Lainey Cate Taylor.
Her family meant the world to her, and as her family, we loved her so very much. She was the best Mom and Granny anyone could ever have, and we will deeply miss her.
