War Eagles Fall to South Fulton, 36-6

ATWOOD (August 13) — The West Carroll Junior High War Eagles hosted South Fulton Middle School Thursday night. The visiting Red Devils were in control and kept the lead throughout for a 36-6 final.
The War Eagles won the toss and elected to receive the opening kick. They began their first offensive drive on the opponent’s 35 yard line after a penalty. War Eagle Ayden Taylor ran for eight yards, then Jeremiah Holley ran for five yards for a first down. The Eagles then turned over the ball.
The Red Devils ran the ball to the outside for a 43-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion was good, making the score South Fulton 8, West Carroll 0.
South Fulton made an onside kick and recovered the ball to start their second drive. South Fulton ran to the outside to make it to the two yard line, then ran up the middle for a touchdown. The two-point conversion was again good, making the score South Fulton 16, West Carroll 0.
South Fulton’s kick was recovered by West Carroll to start their second drive. Isaiah Lott ran for gains of four and two, then Kevin Pryor ran six yards for a first down. The Eagles were stopped there and turned over the ball to begin South Fulton’s third drive.
The Red Devils ran to the outside, stopped at the 15 yard line. Two penalties against South Fulton pushed them back, but they ran to the outside for a 29-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion was denied by Taylor, making the score South Fulton 22, West Carroll 0.
West Carroll started their third drive in Red Devil territory with gains of four, three and two yards, making it fourth-and-one. War Eagle Lott ran up the middle for a 30-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion was no good, making it South Fulton 22, West Carroll 6 to end the first half.
West Carroll kicked it off to South Fulton to begin the second half on their 40 yard line. South Fulton ran outside for a 60-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion was good, making it South Fulton 30, West Carroll 6.
West Carroll got a first down to start, but was then intercepted by South Fulton.
South Fulton gained a yard, then ran for a 20-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion was no good, making it South Fulton 36, West Carroll 6.
West Carroll got the ball back but couldn’t get a first down. South Fulton took a knee twice to run out the clock.
