District 12A Baseball Tournament
Warriors, Rockets Eliminated
From the May 5, 2026 e-EditionBRUCETON (May 2) — The District 12A Baseball Tournament continued at Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School Saturday with a pair of elimination games. First, the Clarksburg Rockets knocked out the McEwen Warriors, 4-2. Then the host Tigers eliminated the Rockets, 10-4. The Tigers advanced to Monday's championship round.
Clarksburg Rockets 4, McEwen Warriors 2
McEwen struck first with a run in the top of the second. Clarksburg took the lead with a pair in the bottom of the fourth. The Warriors tied it with one in the top of the fifth, but the Rockets regained the lead with two in the home half.
Rocket Walker Aston was 2-for-2 with a run scored and two stolen bases. Greysen Jones and Levi Davis were both 2-for-3 with an RBI. Trae Cobb was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Samuel Wallace was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Taylor Lawler was 0-for-3 with an RBI.
Warrior Knox Parham was 2-for-2 with a walk. Tylon Carter was 1-for-4 with a double. Ben McPherson was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Colt Tummins was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Jack Grigsby was 1-for-3. Cane Burdette was 0-for-2 with an RBI.
Greysen Jones earned the complete-game win for Clarksburg, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits while walking three and striking out three.
Knox Parham took the complete-game loss for McEwen, allowing four earned runs on eight hits while walking two and striking out five.
Central Tigers 10, Clarksburg Rockets 4
Clarksburg got on the board first with two runs in the top of the third inning. Central cut into the deficit with a run in the home half. The Rockets added a pair in the fourth, but the Tigers erupted for nine runs in the bottom half to pull away for good.
Tiger Brody Huff was 4-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Tanner Walters was 2-for-5 with two runs scored. Parker Boyd was 2-for-4. Parker Finley was 1-for-2 with two walks, two RBIs and a run scored. Gage Weatherly was 1-for-4. Dalton Howard was 0-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored. Drake Hollingsworth was 0-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Braxton Howard was 0-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base. Brayden Maness was 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.
Rocket Trae Cobb was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a stolen base. Garrett Bartholomew was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Reagan Halter, Samuel Wallace and Caden Hollowell were each 1-for-3 with a run scored. Walker Aston was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Levi Davis was 1-for-3.
Gage Weatherly earned the complete-game win for Central, allowing four earned runs on nine hits while walking one and striking out two.
Trae Cobb took the loss for Clarksburg, allowing ten runs (one earned) on nine hits and four walks in three and a third innings. Jayden Reed pitched the final two and two-thirds innings, allowing no runs on one hit with one walk and two strikeouts.
