ATWOOD — Freshmen and sophomores at West Carroll High School have taken a significant step toward workplace readiness by earning their Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certifications through Career Exploration and Career Advising courses. A total of 33 students successfully passed the certification exam, achieving an impressive 97 percent pass rate.

OSHA sets and enforces workplace safety standards to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all workers. By completing this certification, students have gained essential knowledge on workplace hazards, safety procedures and employee rights—skills that will benefit them in any career path.

The Career Exploration course, led by instructors Noah Rogers, Heather Martin and Victoria

Campbell, prepares freshmen with fundamental workplace knowledge. Sophomores advance their skills in Career Advising with instructors Erin Lewis, Mary Beth Dunagan and Kristen McCadams.

“We are incredibly proud of our students for their dedication to workplace safety and preparedness,” said Dr. Adam Douglas, principal of West Carroll High School. “Earning an OSHA certification at such a young age sets them apart as they explore future careers and demonstrates their commitment to learning essential job skills.”

West Carroll High School continues to prioritize career readiness, equipping students with the tools necessary for success beyond the classroom. Earning OSHA certification not only enhances their resumes but also reinforces the importance of safety in the workplace.
