West Carroll Honors Outstanding Students with Weekly SOAR Awards
From the Nov 19, 2024 e-Edition
West Carroll Elementary School continues to uphold its tradition of recognizing exceptional students each week through the SOAR Awards program. This initiative celebrates students who embody the school’s core values: Safety, Ownership, Achievement and Respect.
Mrs. Beth Hysmith, a teacher at WCES, recently honored two students from her class for their achievements. The selected students earned the highest Class Dojo points.
Mrs. Hysmith shared, “Liam Hudgins, a fourth-grade student, is an exceptional individual who consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to academic excellence. He tackles every challenge with a positive attitude and determination to succeed. Beyond his academic achievements, Liam is compassionate, respectful, and always willing to lend a helping hand.”
Hysmith also spoke highly of Holland Hudgins, also in fourth grade, saying, “Holland is a dedicated and hardworking student who has a real passion for learning. Her thoughtful contributions to discussions and kindness toward others make her a valued member of our class. Above all, she consistently shows empathy and kindness to everyone around her.”
In addition, Caylee Howell was nominated by the sixth grade teachers for her outstanding contributions at WCES. Ms. Shanna Pafford praised Caylee, saying, “Caylee is an incredibly hard worker. She always completes her work on time, pays close attention to detail, and has been a model of respect and kindness. I have not had to correct her behavior once this school year. She frequently compliments both teachers and students, brightening their days. Over the past two years, Caylee has made significant improvements in all areas, and I am so proud of her.”
The SOAR Awards program at West Carroll Elementary School continues to celebrate students like Liam, Holland and Caylee, who demonstrate excellence in both character and academics.
