West Carroll Spotlights Students of the Week
From the Oct 14, 2025 e-Edition
On October 9, West Carroll announced its newest round of students of the week from its primary, elementary and junior/senior high schools. The three students — Daizy Tripp, Faith Pitts and Mackenzie Finley — were each nominated for their go-getter attitudes, kindness and willingness to work.
Kindergarten student Daizy Tripp is West Carroll Primary School’s student of the week. She was nominated by Coach Cindy Smith.
“Daizy works hard every day in PE class. She never complains and often sets an example for others to follow. Daizy has such a great work ethic and a positive attitude,” said Smith.
Faith Pitts, a fourth-grade student, is West Carroll Elementary School’s student of the week. She was nominated by Nikki Andrews-Gilley.
“Faith comes to school every day with an ‘I can’ attitude,” said Andrews-Gilley. “She always puts forth her best effort, helps others and uses her manners. She also follows all rules and procedures.”
Eleventh-grade student Mackenzie Finley is West Carroll Jr/Sr High School’s student of the week. She was nominated by Sally Arnold.
“Mackenzie, on her own, started coming into the library during her breaks and whenever she had free time to help me organize the books in the library by genre. I would still be working on this if it were not for her. She was a huge help,” said Arnold.
West Carroll also recognized third-grade teacher Jennifer Kemp as educator of the week.
West Carroll honors three students and one educator each week for their efforts in the classrooms.
