WEST CARROLL (October 20) — The West Carroll Special School District announced its newest round of students of the week for October 20-24 from its primary, elementary and junior/senior high schools. The three students — Laney Williams, Juan Anguiano and Kaylee Cole — were each nominated for their positive attitudes and willingness to help.

Kindergarten student Laney Williams is West Carroll Primary School’s student of the week, nominated by Ms. Sherry Haywood.

“Laney is a focused and hard-working student who always gives her very best,” said Haywood. “She listens carefully, participates eagerly and is always willing to answer questions and contribute to class discussions. Her strong work ethic and positive attitude make her stand out every single day.”

Sixth grade student Juan Anguiano is West Carroll Elementary School’s student of the week, nominated by Ms. Bridget Neisler.

“Juan consistently follows directions with a positive attitude and gives his best effort on every assignment. He has demonstrated wonderful leadership skills and discovered a true passion for reading. Juan loves sharing his progress and library points, and it is inspiring to see his excitement and growth as a reader,” said Neisler.

Twelfth-grade student Kaylee Cole is West Carroll Jr/Sr High School’s student of the week, nominated by Ms. Sonya Eaton.

“Kaylee is always ready to help, no matter the need,” said Eaton. “She goes out of her way to make others feel welcome and valued, especially those who are new. With a tender heart and a kind spirit, Kaylee brings warmth and friendship wherever she goes.”

The West Carroll Special School District also recognized West Carroll Elementary School Interventionist Kim Allen as teacher of the week.

West Carroll honors three students and one educator each week for their efforts in the classrooms.
