From the Nov 4, 2025 e-Edition
WEST CARROLL (October 29) — The West Carroll Special School District announced its newest round of students of the week for Week Five (October 27-31) from its primary, elementary and junior/senior high schools. The three students — Georgia Gibson, Annalee Holley and Mariska Anguiano — were each nominated for their leadership and kindness.
Pre-kindergarten student Georgia Gibson is West Carroll Primary School’s student of the week, nominated by Ms. Katy Johnsonius.
“Georgia consistently makes good choices and looks out for those around her,” said Johnsonius. “She has been known to invite classmates to play when they are feeling down and shows strong participation during lesson time.”
Sixth grade student Annalee Holley is West Carroll Elementary School’s student of the week, nominated by Shanna Pafford.
“Annalee is dependable and proactive,” said Pafford. “She often steps in to help without being asked and is quick to notice when something needs to be done. Her work in Science and Social Studies continues to improve through consistent effort and focus.”
Seventh-grade student Mariska Anguiano is West Carroll Jr/Sr High School’s student of the week, nominated by Ms. Tammy Davis.
“Mariska demonstrates respect toward adults and follows classroom expectations,” said Davis. “She leads by example, treats her peers with kindness, and is always willing to offer help when needed.”
The West Carroll Special School District also recognized West Carroll Jr/Sr High School Special Education Assistant Kaitlin Williams as teacher of the week.
West Carroll honors three students and one educator each week for their efforts in the classrooms.
