West Carroll Spotlights Students of the Week
From the Dec 16, 2025 e-Edition
WEST CARROLL (December 10) — The West Carroll Special School District announced its newest round of students of the week from its primary, elementary and junior/senior high schools. The three students — Karsyn Jackson, Skylar Riggs and Lily Green — were each nominated for their positive attitudes and willingness to help.
Second-grade student Karsyn Jackson is West Carroll Primary School’s student of the week, nominated by Ms. Krystle.
“Karsyn is an amazing student all the way around. She constantly has a positive attitude with her work and is always wanting to help others. If she sees another student struggling, she is the first student to offer to help,” said Ms. Krystle. “Karsyn also wants to help me as the teacher as much as she possibly can. She is a true leader. She is an absolute joy in the classroom.”
Fifth-grade student Skylar Riggs is West Carroll Elementary School’s student of the week, nominated by April Gonzalez.
“Skylar is reading a challenging book, but she is persevering through it. She has mastered comprehension of what she has read so far. I am proud of the progress she has made this year,” said Gonzalez. “She usually does things like this, but recently, she noticed that another student was struggling to carry their belongings from one class to another and offered to help.”
Ninth-grade student Lily Green is West Carroll Jr/Sr High School’s student of the week, nominated by Coach Nickolas Cobb.
“Lilly works extremely hard in Algebra I and is always willing to help others. She always has a smile on her face,” said Cobb.
The West Carroll Special School District also recognized West Carroll Primary School first-grade reading teacher Katie Ann Thomas as teacher of the week.
West Carroll honors three students and one educator each week for their efforts in the classrooms.
