WEST CARROLL (January 15) — The West Carroll Special School District announced its first round of students of the week in 2026, spotlighting students from primary, elementary and junior/senior high school. The three students — Annaliese Collard, Sapphire McMinn and Jack (William) Robinson — were each nominated for their positive attitudes in the classroom.

First-grade student Annaliese Collard is West Carroll Primary School’s student of the week, nominated by Ms. Angie Morris.

“Annaliese is a wonderful student,” said Morris. “She is very polite and a good friend to other students. She works very hard in class and even does extra work at home to help her learn our skills!”

Fourth-grade student Sapphire McMinn is West Carroll Elementary School’s student of the week, nominated by Ms. Kim.

“Sapphire has a servant’s heart,” said Ms. Kim. “By that I mean she is always willing to help others. She has come in with a positive attitude ready to learn.”

Twelfth-grade student Jack (William) Robinson is West Carroll Jr/Sr High School’s student of the week, nominated by Ms. Erin Lewis.

“Jack stands out for his drive and forward-thinking mindset,” said Lewis. “He’s passionate about his interests and committed to preparing for his future success. His positive attitude, consistency and willingness to challenge himself make him a respected and valued member of our school community.”

The West Carroll Special School District also recognized West Carroll Elementary School sixth-grade science and social studies teacher Shanna Pafford as teacher of the week.

West Carroll honors three students and one educator each week for their efforts in the classrooms.
