From the Jan 27, 2026 e-Edition
WEST CARROLL (January 23) — The West Carroll Special School District announced its newest round of students of the week from its primary, elementary and junior/senior high schools. The three students — Finleigh Wildridge, Jemma Hanks and Maddison Janda — were each nominated for their kindness and willingness to help in the classroom.
First-grade student Finleigh Wildridge is West Carroll Primary School’s student of the week, nominated by Ms. Cindy.
“Finleigh models WCP Eagle expectations,” said Ms. Cindy. “She listens and pays attention to details. She is a great helper. Often in class, she helps model the correct way to play a game or execute a skill because she focuses on instructions. She is kind and has the sweetest smile.”
Sixth-grade student Jemma Hanks is West Carroll Elementary School’s student of the week, nominated by Ms. Shanna.
“Jemma is kind and caring towards others,” said Ms. Shanna. “She excels in the classroom and always tries her best. Her determination to do the right thing is outstanding.”
Eleventh-grade student Maddison Janda is West Carroll Jr/Sr High School’s student of the week, nominated by Ms. Sonya.
“Maddison is kind, thoughtful and works hard to do her best. Maddison shows motivation in completing any task or assignment given to her completely and on time. She shows kindness to everyone she meets and goes out of her way to assist anyone needing assistance. I consider it a privilege and a blessing to have Maddison as one of my students,” said Ms. Sonya.
The West Carroll Special School District also recognized West Carroll Primary School special education teacher Christal Marie Reed as teacher of the week.
West Carroll honors three students and one educator each week for their efforts in the classrooms.
