West Carroll Swept by Bradford on Homecoming

ATWOOD (February 13) — West Carroll High School celebrated Homecoming Thursday and hosted Bradford for a pair of district basketball contests. The Lady War Eagles kept the game in reach but fell to the Lady Red Devils, 52-41. The Red Devils pulled away early for a 53-28 win.
Bradford Lady Red Devils 52, West Carroll Lady War Eagles 41
The Lady Red Devils led 11-7 after the opening frame, led by Mya Page with five points. Ashlyn Reynolds hit a three-pointer, Abby Glisson had a pair, and Brooklyn Armstong hit a free throw. Lady War Eagle Gracelyn Vernon hit a three, and Hailey Mitchell and Aubrey Hammett each had a pair.
Bradford had a 12-8 edge in the second quarter, led by Armstrong with seven points. Glisson scored five with a three-pointer. Chloe Rimmer scored six for West Carroll, including a three. Alayna Lovelace and Triniti Adkisson each hit a free throw. At the half, Bradford led 23-15.
The Lady Red Devils had a 16-9 advantage in the third, led by Princess Cain with seven points, including a three. Glisson and Armstrong each hit a three-pointer, and Page added a pair. Mitchell led West Carroll with five points, and Vernon scored four with a three-pointer. Entering the final frame, Bradford led 39-24.
The Lady War Eagles rallied 17-13 in the fourth for a closer final, led by Vernon with nine points, including a three. Hammett and Taylor Robinson each scored three points, and Mitchell added a pair. Cain led Bradford with seven points, including a three-pointer. Armstrong scored four, and Page and Glisson each hit a freebie.
Lady War Eagle Gracelyn Vernon led all scorers with 16 points, including a trio of threes. Hailey Mitchell scored nine points.
Princess Cain and Brooklyn Armstong led Bradford with 15 points each, Cain with a pair of threes and Armstrong with one. Abby Glisson scored eleven with a pair of threes.
Red Devils 53, War Eagles 28
Bradford led 10-4 after the first frame, led by Carver Cates with five points, including a three-pointer. Jax Richardson also hit a three, and Jax Street had a pair. War Eagles Kayden Melton and Mason Taylor each had a pair.
The Red Devils had an 18-4 advantage in the second quarter, led by Cates with six points on a pair of threes. Quacey Lewis scored five with a three. Richardson had three points, and Street and Brodie McDaniel each had a pair. Taylor and Trinden Kirby each had a pair for West Carroll. At the half, the Red Devils led 28-8.
Bradford doubled up the War Eagles 12-6 in the third. Street and Cates each scored six, both on a pair of threes. Melton scored four for West Carroll, and Chandler Rimmer had a pair. Heading into the final frame, the Red Devils led 40-14.
The War Eagles had a 14-13 edge in the fourth, led by Taylor with eight points. Ryder Krawczyk scored four, and Rimmer added a pair. Braxton Lynch scored ten for Bradford with a pair of three-pointers. E. Marrand hit a three.
Red Devil Carver Cates led all scorers with 17 points, including five three-pointers. Jax Street and Braxton Lynch each scored ten, both with a pair of threes.
Mason Taylor led West Carroll with 12 points.
