West Carroll Elementary School continues its tradition of celebrating outstanding students through its SOAR Awards program. This initiative recognizes students who exemplify the school’s core values of Safety, Ownership, Achievement and Respect. Each week, students are honored for their academic effort, positive character and meaningful contributions to the school community.

The Week 19 SOAR Award was presented to Paisley Keymon, a fourth-grade student who earned the highest number of Dojo points for the week.

Mrs. Beth Hysmith said, “She is a very hard-working student with a determination to succeed. She is kind to her peers and respectful to adults. She takes her education very seriously and sets the bar high in the classroom.”

For Week 20, the award was given to Jackson Meals, a third-grade student recognized for his impressive Dojo points.

Mrs. Lindsey Lindsay said, “Jackson earned this award because he makes good choices every day and helps others do the same. He works to keep his classroom safe by following rules, walking carefully in the halls, and reminding classmates to do the same. Jackson also shows ownership by taking responsibility for his work and actions. He completes assignments on time and gives his best effort, even when tasks are challenging. When he makes a mistake, he learns from it and tries again. Jackson is also very respectful, using kind words, listening to others and helping friends when they need it.”

In addition to the weekly winners, teachers and staff selected one student for recognition across both weeks. This honor was awarded to Cooper Pinson, a fifth-grade student admired for his strong work ethic and focus in the classroom.

Mrs. Marcia Holt said, “Cooper is a very bright student who is always on task and working. He does what is asked without complaint, and he is a joy to have in class.”

Through its SOAR Awards program, West Carroll Elementary School proudly highlights the achievements and positive contributions of its students, inspiring them to serve as role models for their peers.
