Webb Alumni Celebrate 55th Homecoming with Weekend Events

McKENZIE (August 30-September 2) — The Webb Alumni Association celebrated its 55th Homecoming over Labor Day weekend with a full slate of events at the historic school.
Friday night, festivities kicked off with “This is not Texas, it’s Tennessee” featuring foods the Volunteer State is known for.
Saturday night was “Gospel Explosion” with a concert by Gospel Lights.
Sunday evening was the fashion show, “Back in Style Again,” featuring six scenes of fashion styles, performances by the Daughters of Promise praise team, door prizes and refreshments.
The five scenes were “Back in White Again!,” “The Motherland,” “Lift Every Voice,” “Summertime,” “En Vogue” and “This Ain’t Texas, This is Tennessee.” The show was directed by Sandra DuPree. Mary Luter Jordan served as master of ceremonies. Rev. J.D. Williams presided in prayer, and Riley Webb provided music.
During the fashion show, outgoing National President Neal Williamson was presented a plaque commemorating his service. He and wife Priscilla were recognized on stage and honored at length by the large audience.
The weekend ended with a bang on Monday with a Soul Train throwback to the 70’s and 80’s featuring dancing, live entertainment and food trucks.
