Webb Back-to-School Event Prepares Students

McKENZIE — Webb School Marketing Team, Walmart, First Baptist Church, and many individuals worked to assure students have a good back-to-school event over the weekend. This is the second annual event to support school-age children.

Approximately 100 children attended the Saturday event. They were able to select from clothes, shoes, school supplies, and food - hotdogs, chips and a drink.

How about a free haircut or style? Licensed barbers and beauticians provided the necessary cuts and styles. Shawn Hughes, Tammy Lane and ALa’sonna Cobb donated their services.

Wingo Baptist Church, Reedy Creek, St. John Baptist Church, New Hope Baptist Church and New Reedy Creek provided donations of school supplies, clothes and money.

Others who volunteered to make the day possible were: Kayla Dudley, Priscilla Williamson, Renee Hobson, Monica Tate, Diane Carter, Jeremy Bilger, Aimee Bilger, Kimberly Bell Webb, Beulah Luter, Rose Glenn, Riley Webb, Alexanderea Bell, Michael Tate, Ariyon Casey, Jayden Williams, Justin Harrigan, Linda Boyd, Tammy Cody, Kassaydra Gadlen, Michael Edwards and Ricky Biggs.

First Baptist Church provided book bags for K-8 students with school supplies in them.

Huntingdon Walmart Manager Jeremy Bilger and Walmart associate Kayla Dudley helped with the event.
