West Carroll Dedicates Reserved Seat to Late Fan Kevin Rigsby
From the Feb 17, 2026 e-Edition
ATWOOD (February 12) — Prior to Thursday's Homecoming basketball games, West Carroll High School honored the memory of Kevin Rigsby, a lifelong supporter and spectator of West Carroll sports who died recently.
Presented to Kevin's sister and brother-in-law Carol and Jim Morgan was a plaque which will be affixed to the seat where Kevin always sat in the bleachers.
Jonathan Gowan of the War Eagle Sports Network presented the school's dedication, which read in part, "His commitment reflected a genuine belief in the importance of showing up, of being present, and of encouraging others simply by standing beside them… Through his faithful attendance and steady encouragement, he helped create an environment where students felt seen, supported and valued. His presence reminded us that every cheer matters, every game matters, and every student matters… While Kevin may no longer sit among us, his spirit, his kindness, and his unwavering support will remain a part of this community for years to come."
