Students from the West Carroll FFA recently traveled to Indianapolis to attend the National FFA Convention and Expo, an event designed to help young leaders develop agricultural knowledge, teamwork and career readiness skills.

Throughout the week, students participated in a variety of workshops, sessions and hands-on experiences that showcased the wide range of opportunities available in agriculture. One highlight of the trip included seeing honey production in action, where students learned firsthand about pollination, hive management and the science behind producing honey. Students also toured a dairy and hog farm where they witnessed a calf being born and saw every aspect of production from birth to final product.

The conference gave students the opportunity to connect with FFA members from across the country, hear from agricultural leaders and explore potential career paths in the industry.

Joy Bryant, a senior at WCHS, shares “I was excited to talk with recruiters from dozens of universities from across the United States.”

The West Carroll FFA program continues to provide students with meaningful learning experiences that build leadership, responsibility and a deeper understanding of the role agriculture plays in our communities.
