ATWOOD (June 4) — During Thursday's regular meeting, the West Carroll Special School District Board of Education honored two retirees, Rosemary Taylor and Kim Allen.

Each was presented a plaque by Director of Schools Preston Caldwell which read, "In appreciation for your years of dedication to education and especially for all of the lives that you have influenced over the years. May the blessings of good health, the joy of good friends, a loving family and the contentment of a job well done fill your life with happiness. Congratulations on your retirement. We'll remember you always."

Taylor served on the West Carroll Primary School cafeteria staff for 13 years.

Principal Jackie Wester said of Taylor, "We're going to miss how she was always just so good with the kids. She loves being around the kids. She loves all of our staff. She loves doing things for everybody. She has just been so awesome… We're going to miss you, Miss Rosemary."

Allen has 30 years of service in the district, most recently as an interventionist at West Carroll Elementary School.

Allen addressed the board, "When I came to West Carroll, I was very uncertain of myself… and West Carroll welcomed me with open arms, and they encouraged me. I am thankful most for all the kids that I got to have an impact on their life. And I have great, great memories… Thank you, it's been a wonderful, wonderful time."
