West Carroll Special School District Spotlights Teacher Olivia Bryant
From the Dec 2, 2025 e-Edition
WEST CARROLL (November 25) — West Carroll Special School District staff is proud to shine this week’s Teacher Spotlight on Ms. Olivia Bryant, a dedicated Pre-K educator whose passion, kindness, and enthusiasm help shape the district’s youngest learners.
Ms. Olivia is in her fifth year in education, and all who know her describe her classroom as a place filled with warmth, joy and curiosity. A graduate of Freed-Hardeman University, she earned her degree in Early Childhood Education, preparing her well for the fast-paced, high-energy world of Pre-K at West Carroll Primary School. Originally from McKenzie, Tennessee, she has always been rooted in the community she now serves.
Ms. Olivia says she became a teacher because she wanted “to make a positive impact on children in their community.” Choosing elementary education was an intentional decision—she wanted the opportunity to help students build a strong academic foundation from the very beginning.
Her favorite part of the job is the joy she sees in her students each morning. “I love seeing the smiling faces coming into school every day! As a Pre-K teacher, I get to be their introduction to school, and I strive to make their first year a positive experience full of fun.” She loves watching her students learn new skills, make friendships and grow in confidence as the year goes on.
When asked about a favorite classroom memory, Ms. Olivia didn’t hesitate: Polar Express Day.
“It’s one of my favorite Christmas books, and I love getting to share it with my students! Getting to wear pajamas and drinking hot chocolate makes the day so much fun,” she said. Her excitement for building magical moments is one of the many reasons her students adore her.
More than anything, Ms. Olivia hopes her students leave her classroom with a lasting mindset: “I hope students take away a love for school and learning that will carry them through their academic career.”
West Carroll is grateful for educators like Olivia Bryant—teachers who make learning joyful, nurture a lifelong love of school and help each child begin their educational journey with confidence and excitement.
