West Carroll's Nigel Butler Signs with Bethel Football
From the Apr 14, 2026 e-Edition
ATWOOD (April 10) — West Carroll senior Nigel Butler signed to join the Bethel University Wildcat football program Friday morning in a ceremony in the West Carroll Junior Senior High library.
Butler was joined by his parents, coaches and teammates for the event.
West Carroll Head Coach Jay Taylor said, "I'm really proud of Nigel. In the one year I've known him, he has worked extremely hard. He's doing a great job, did everything the coaches have asked him to do. That hard work and that work ethic, he's gonna have to use all of it at the next level. College football is a full-time job. It's very hard. It is a grind. But I know that Nigel will work hard and he will succeed and he will represent West Carroll well."
Butler said, "Thank you everyone for coming here and being with me on this journey to where I am now. I hope to go far and continue to put forth the effort I always have."
Butler played defensive end and outside linebacker for the War Eagles and expects to be in the latter position with the Wildcats.
He will major in Education with plans to teach Biology and coach football.
