William Hailey Forsyth

Mr. William Hailey Forsyth, 66, of Jackson died Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at West Tennessee Healthcare North Hospital in Jackson.

Funeral services were Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Dr. Jacob Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Humbles Chapel Cemetery.


Mr. Forsyth was born February 2, 1960, in Savanna, Tennessee, to the late R.F. Forsyth and Perry D. Forsyth. He was a loving and compassionate husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Janice Forsyth, and a loving father to his son, Ross Forsyth. He was affectionately known as “Pop Pop” by his grandchildren. He dearly loved spending time with his precious grandchildren, Hallie Forsyth and Jakeson Forsyth.

Hailey was a Christian by faith and a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church. He dearly loved the beauty and majesty of the Great Smoky Mountains. He enjoyed his time spent watching nature and animals everywhere he was and was also an avid and skilled bow hunter.

He was an expert in building furniture and took great pride in his craft and his work in the construction business. He was a superb trim carpenter and was meticulous in his trim craftsmanship. He was a kind man who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Some of the things Hailey enjoyed most were bow hunting, cooking on the grill and smoker, preparing brisket, barbecue, and ribs, spending time with his beloved wife, sitting on the back porch, listening to St. Louis Cardinals baseball, watching the UT Vols, and helping others. He loved his life's work as a carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.F. Forsyth and Perry D. Forsyth; his brothers, Ronnie Forsyth and Richard Forsyth; and his sister, Jimmie Forsyth.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Janice Forsyth; his son, Ross Forsyth; his grandchildren, Hallie Forsyth and Jakeson Forsyth; his sister, Tommy Smith, and brothers, Greg Forsyth and Robert Forsyth; and his mother and father-in-law, Bertie and Ernest Douglas of Huntingdon.
