McKenzie - Funeral Services for William Jerry Gilliam, 83, are November 25, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 24, 2018 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. until service time. Reverend James Hazlewood is officiant and interment is at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jerry Hayes, Matt Hayes, David Hayes, Randy Barner, Jacky Denton, Lowell Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Gilliam, Kirk Gilliam, Bradley Fowler, Daniel Parker, Richard Holmes, Chris Thomas and Joseph Crocker.

 

Mr. Gilliam, a retired heavy equipment operator for Hayes Construction, died Thursday, November 22, 2018 at his residence. He attended Bethel Baptist Church in McKenzie. Mr. Gilliam was born October 11, 1935 in Weakley County, Tenn. to William Bradley and Alice Ruth Ross Gilliam. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Lynn Gilliam and brother James Gilliam.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years Evelyn Harrison Gilliam of McKenzie, a son Ray (Lisa) Gilliam of McKenzie, a daughter Carol (Mike) Kyle of Huntingdon, a daughter in law Janice Gilliam of McKenzie, one brother Marvin (Shirley) Gilliam of McKenzie, seven grandchildren Jeremy Gilliam, Kayla (Richard) Holmes, April ( Chris) Thomas, Kirk Gilliam, Morgan (Joseph) Crocker, Bradley (Kayla) Fowler and Daniel Parker, five great-grandchildren Kelsey, Maddox, Brooklyn, Leland and Hudson and one step-great grandson Lanndon.
