HUNTINGDON (May 2) — Huntingdon Public Works Director Randy Crossett announced his resignation during the May 2 meeting of the Public Works Committee. Mayor Nina Smothers said Crossett did not provide a definite date of resignation and talks between she and Crossett continue as she attempts to persuade him not to quit.

HUNTINGDON (May 4) — The Carroll County Sports Hall of Fame Board of Directors inducted its twenty-second class of members during a celebration on Saturday, May 4 at the Carroll County Civic Center. Nine members were inducted and 10 high school seniors were recognized for their athletic and academic accomplishments.

BOSTON (April 15) — McKenzie’s Mark Smith participated in the 128th Boston Marathon and completed the 26.2-mile race in less than three hours with an average pace of 6:49 per mile. This is an incredible feat considering that the average marathon time for men is approximately 4 hours and 21 minutes, and for women is around 4 hours and 48 minutes.

NASHVILLE — Tennessee Governor Bill Lee signed the Tennessee Disability and Aging Act, legislation that merges Tennessee’s Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD) and Commission on Aging and Disability (TCAD), creating a new Department of Disability and Aging (DDA).
