Criminal Trespass — Gavin Clay Rosson, 25, homeless, was charged with Trespassing at the Country Store on Hwy 70. Deputy Bongiovanni arrived at the country store and spoke to the manager of the store who stated that Rosson had entered the store shirtless, wearing black shorts, and sandals. The deputy then observed video surveillance showing Rosson in the store in the same clothing described by the store manager. Rosson had left the store before Deputy Bongiovanni arrived. The deputy waited for approximately 30 minutes across the street when Rosson showed back up at the store and got arrested for criminal trespass. more

Theft of Merchandise — Karen Munkeboe, 72, of Huntingdon, was cited into General Sessions Court for Theft of Merchandise under $1,000 on May 6. Joe Lowe, head of security at Walmart, stated that Munkeboe had taken several plants from the garden center without paying for them. Restitution is due to Walmart in the amount of $66.62. more

Theft of Property — Mr. Lloyd Bateman reported his trailer was stolen. The trailer is a 16-ft double axle trailer with white wheels. The trailer is black and had two or three broken or missing boards in the floor. He valued the trailer at $1,400. more
Domestic Assault — John Michael Millsap, 49, Linden Street, McKenzie is charged with Domestic Assault on May 3. more
Animal Cruelty — Amanda Seymore, 44, of Huntingdon, was charged with Animal Cruelty because she left her male pit-bull under the care of her brother while she was incarcerated. The dog bit Seymore’s brother while he was trying to feed and water it. Her brother then sought out help from the city of Huntingdon’s animal control officer. The dog was very hostile towards animal control and city officers when they attempted to retrieve the dog. Walton reported it was unclear whether the dog had been without food and water for days. Other residents said they haven’t seen anyone check on the dog in over ten days. more

It was a tumultuous session marked by Tennessee teachers being allowed to enter the classroom armed, AI protection in the music industry, additional abortion legislation, and the school voucher bill failing. Included was the passage of Governor Lee’s $52.8 billion budget. more

Aggravated Child Abuse — Felicia Elen Sarkozi, 32, McKenzie, and Robert C. Warren, Jr., 47, McKenzie, were arrested on outstanding Child Abuse warrants on April 22. more
Speeding and Driving on Revoked License — Timmy Aderinoye, 20, was arrested on April 21 for speeding and driving on a revoked license. Sgt. Tony King witnessed a vehicle going 70 in a 55 MPH zone and after conducting a traffic stop the driver was found to have a suspended license. The defendant was given a 10 day booking notice. more
Drug Violation — Wendy Love Calderon, 49, of McKenzie, concealed a hydrocodone pill in a clear plastic bag inside of her arm sling and brought the item into the jail. Jail staff discovered the pill during the defendants initial booking into the jail for her weekend time to serve. more
