The Bethel/Eastside Family and Community Education (FCE) March meeting was held in the home of Mary and Pennye Mays with ten members present. The vice president, Pennye Mays, opened the meeting with a devotion written by Barbara Cage entitled ‘May Hope Always Be Your Comfort and Guide.’ The club pledge was recited and cards were passed to be signed for Janice Chandler and Lacy Yelley. HUNTINGDON (March 13) — The Carroll County Commission met Monday at the Carroll County Complex with a light agenda. The Commission adopted Resolution 3-02-2023 to pledge $500,000 of American Rescue Plan Act Funds for maintenance, repair and improvements to the Carroll County Office Complex. The $500,000 for the Carroll County Office Complex for maintenance, repair and improvements would include, but are not limited to, ADA (The Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant facility entrances and exits, ADA compliance in bathrooms, new flooring, interior painting, exterior painting and cleanup. more
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office has received three reports of scammers calling citizens from 731-418-6093. The phone number used is not affiliated with Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. Please do not call this number. The scammer is claiming to be Kris Taylor from the Sheriff’s Office. The caller is telling people they have missed court and have a Failure to Appear warrant. The scammer will tell them to come to the jail or make a payment over the phone. more
