From the Apr 23, 2024 e-Edition
BRENTWOOD — Annie Frances “Rusty” Dean of Brentwood, Tenn. will celebrate her 100th birthday on April 24, 2024.
Her parents were Clifford and Clevie Robinson Rust who lived three miles west of Huntingdon on Highway 70A (McLemoresville Highway). Annie Frances grew up there along with her brother, Clifford Neely “Squibb” Rust. She graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1942 then completed a business course.
She was hired by Oman Construction Company based in Nashville and met her future husband, James “Jimmy” Dean who also worked for Oman. They shared many wonderful years together until his death in 2013.
They have lived in Brentwood since the 1960s but always owned her childhood home and farm in Huntingdon and spent all the time they could here. This was “home” to them.
Annie Frances is very interested in the history of Carroll County and has donated many items to the Gordon Browning Museum in McKenzie and to the Town of Huntingdon Museum.
The Town of Huntingdon is honoring her with a proclamation recognizing her 100th birthday.
Her many, many friends from Carroll County wish her a Happy Birthday.
