Baptist Hospital Recognized for March 27 Mass Casualty Response

HUNTINGDON (June 5) — Baptist Ambulance recently presented Baptist Memorial Hospital - Carroll County with a Certificate of Appreciation, recognizing the hospital’s coordinated response during the fatal three-vehicle accident involving a Montgomery County school bus on March 27, 2026.

“In the face of unimaginable circumstances, our physicians, nurses, EMS partners, support staff, and leadership came together with professionalism, compassion, and unwavering dedication to patient care,” Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County shared.

All four units of Baptist Priority Ambulance Service of Carroll County responded to the mass casualty event on March 27, with additional units from Baptist Ambulance Service of Obion County, Medical Center EMS in Jackson and Henderson County EMS assisting on the scene. The Carroll County Fire Department, Huntingdon Fire Department, McKenzie Fire Department and the Carroll County Rescue Squad were also on the scene.

The Certificate of Appreciation, signed by Carroll County Mayor Joseph Butler and Baptist Ambulance President Tony Anteau, reads, “Your professionalism, resilience and commitment to saving lives under extreme conditions embody the very best of public service.”

Hospital leaders voiced their gratitude for receiving the Certificate of Appreciation and emphasized their pride in the Baptist Memorial Hospital team members who serve the Carroll County community every day.
