Bethel University has been awarded a $335,450 Workforce Development Grant to expand and enhance its nursing program, a move aimed at addressing the growing demand for healthcare professionals in Tennessee.

The funding will be used to strengthen the nursing curriculum, provide advanced training resources, and support faculty development. University officials say this initiative aligns with Bethel’s commitment to delivering high-quality education and preparing students for critical roles in the healthcare industry.

Bethel’s nursing program consistently ranks among the top programs in Tennessee, with a four-year pass rate of 90% for the classes of 2020 through 2023. The program was also ranked #15 among 52 nursing schools in the state.

With this grant, Bethel plans to expand hands-on training, improve simulation labs, and increase student support services. The university hopes these investments will attract more nursing candidates and help address regional healthcare shortages.

Applications for the program are open, and school officials encourage prospective students to explore new scholarship opportunities tied to the grant funding.
