Lake Planning Commission Rejects RV Park Site Plan
From the Apr 1, 2025 e-Edition
HUNTINGDON (March 27) — An incomplete site plan for an recreational vehicle and small cabin park was rejected during the March 27 meeting of the Carroll County Lake Regional Planning Commission on Thursday, March 27.
Mike Zuro submitted the plan during the March 4 meeting for Cassinino Road, near Lake Halford, which lies within the planning region of the Lake Planning Commission. Zuro’s plan calls for 20 RV spaces, seven rental cabins and a lodge on 8.91 acres.
Zuro said the park would serve the lodging and camping needs for the area.
Donny Buntin, a regional planner with the Northwest Tennessee Development District, said the site plan was incomplete and lacked the necessary information. It is also not on a main arterial road as required by the rules of the Planning Commission. Chairman John Austin said the zoning regulations were designed to protect the geographic area.
Commissioner Tony Tucker said the site also lacks water and sewer, which must be installed.
Buntin said the county could adopt rules that permit tourist courts, which could create the necessary variances for such a project. However, any changes to the regulations must be approved by both the Planning Commission and the County Commission.
