McKENZIE (December 11) — Thursday night, the McKenzie City Council presented resolutions honoring Dennis R. Coleman and Ricky Price for their years of service on the McKenzie Industrial Board.
Coleman, the outgoing secretary, served the McKenzie Industrial Board for 11 years. Price, the outgoing vice-chairman, served the McKenzie Industrial Board for seven years. Both of their terms end December 31.
“The City of McKenzie thrives because of individuals who stepped forward to serve their community with dedication and vision,” said Mayor Griffin, reading from Coleman’s resolution.
Mayor Griffin recognized Coleman’s practical approach, collaborative spirit and his belief in strengthening opportunities for local businesses and residents.
“The City of McKenzie is strengthened by the citizens who willingly give up their time and expertise for the betterment of the community,” said Mayor Ryan Griffin, reading from Price’s resolution.
Mayor Griffin recognized Price’s steady judgment, community-minded approach and support for projects that create opportunity for the people of McKenzie.
Outgoing chairman Joel Washburn also retires from the McKenzie Industrial Board December 31. He will receive a resolution for his service in the McKenzie City Council’s January meeting.
The council appointed John Hodgson and Chris Nelson for six-year terms on the Industrial Development Board in Coleman and Price’s places.
In November, Mayor Griffin said he intended for LaDona Herrin to fill the third vacancy.
The McKenzie City Council also appointed Elizabeth Russell Owen to the Planning Commission Board.
Before council members dispersed for the night, they each publicly thanked Jennifer Waldrup and the city’s department leaders for their work making the past weekend’s McKenzie Hometown Christmas celebration a huge success.
