McLEMORESVILLE (July 4) — The town of McLemoresville celebrated the fourth of July in traditional style with a parade, cake walk, music, famous burgers by McLemoresville Fire Department, music, and fireworks.

Mayor Phil Williams welcomed citizens and visitors to his hometown, that is steeped in tradition and is known as a town, where many citizens live to be one hundred years old. It is a town where the citizens take ownership and work collectively on projects.

When the late Dixie Carter and Hal Holbrook were living, they often visited on July 4th and Hal enjoyed visiting the ‘real’ people of McLemoresville. He enjoyed participating in the cake walk.

Children truly enjoy participating in the parade with their decorated bicycles, hoverboards, or electric miniature cars.
