McKenzie Fire Department Received Record Number of Calls in November

McKENZIE (December 11) — During Thursday night’s McKenzie City Council meeting, McKenzie Fire Chief Brian Tucker shared that the city’s fire department received 90 calls in November — a call number he said was the largest recorded on file.
Of these calls, 45 were categorized as varying types of medical incidents. Twelve calls required patient lift assistance. Eleven calls were related to vehicular crashes. Ten calls were alarms. Five calls were investigative incidents — four for smoke and one for hazmat. Three calls were fire incidents. Of those, one was a vegetation/grass fire, one involved a passenger vehicle and one was a fire outside city limits. There was one call involving a controlled burn, one involving a smoke scare, one involving hazmat and one involving a rescue.
As of November, the McKenzie Fire Department has responded to 700 calls in 2025.
