Rogers Fills County Commission Vacancy

HUNTINGDON (August 19) — Carroll County Mayor Joseph Butler officially swore in Morris Rogers on as a Commissioner for Carroll County. Rogers was elected to represent District 4 in the August election. In filling a vacancy through election, Rogers will begin serving immediately.

Rogers spent 30 years in law enforcement and is currently a special agent with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. He is married to Penny Crafton Rogers. They have two daughters and six grandchildren.

Rogers previously served 3 years as a County Commissioner in Benton County before moving to Carroll County. His local government experience also includes 3 years as a City Alderman in Hollow Rock.

Their family moved to Carroll County approximately 8 years ago and reside in Hollow Rock.

Mayor Butler noted, “We are excited for Morris to begin his service as a County Commissioner for District 4. He brings a unique background and perspective through previous service in local government, decades of service in law enforcement, and his leadership in our faith community. He is a Godly, servant-hearted man who is eager to get to work serving Carroll County.”
