TNT Tacos Food Truck Explodes, Both Owners Severely Burned
From the Jun 9, 2026 e-Edition
HUNTINGDON (June 4) — Late Thursday morning, TNT Tacos, a popular local food truck, exploded as owners Tim and Tiffany McPherson were preparing to open. The truck was parked in the shopping center parking lot on East Main Street in front of Tractor Supply.
The two owners suffered second-and third-degree burns and were airlifted separately to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville directly from the lot.
The food truck is a complete loss, and as of The Banner’s Monday press deadline, no cause has been identified by authorities.
Tim and Tiffany, both military veterans, are facing a long recovery with multiple surgeries. Their daughter, Jada Pastrana, created a GoFundMe page to assist with her parents’ medical bills and other expenses: gofund.me/82fc54ee4.
Pastrana also shared a message from Tiffany on Monday: “Tim and I are survivors, and we are in the process of surviving. We will always be forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support. Thank you guys from the bottom of our hearts… I want to take a moment to recognize my husband, who was the first person in the line of many to save my life. From the force of the explosion, I was blown back against the far wall where our sinks are, and I was trapped. He was blown towards the door. Tim could’ve easily ran out but chose to come back and get me and drag me out, having to go through the explosion before busting us both through the door and saving our lives.
“As of now we have both undergone our first surgery and everything is going as expected. We need to express our heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who has helped us. A huge shout out to the Huntingdon EMS, firefighters, police officers, customers and every single person who helped us to survive this ordeal.
“With the help of God, all of you guys and these fantastic nurses, doctors and surgeons, we are gonna be okay. It’s just gonna take some time… God bless you all and thank you so very much for all the love.”
