McLEMORESVILLE — (November 18) — Lex Suite, 61, a resident of McLemoresville, was injured he was riding his bicycle on State Route 77 at approximately 2:30 p.m. when he was struck by an automobile, driving by Jason Copous of Gibson County. more
HERMITAGE (November 24) — With Friday night’s 25-14 win over the Dresden Lions, the McKenzie Rebels advanced to the TSSAA State Football Championship in Division 1, Class 1A. For the third consecutive year, the Rebels have earned a spot in the BlueCross Bowl and for the third time in four appearances, they will battle it out with the South Pittsburg Pirates. more
McKENZIE (November 25) — The No. 7 Bethel University Wildcats pulled away midway of the third quarter to beat No. 9 Evangel 40-13 and in doing so advanced to the quarterfinals of the NAIA Championship Series. The game was the 500th in program history. more
McKENZIE (November 24) — Friday night’s game against Dresden started as if it would be the last game of the 2023 season, at least in the first half. At the half, the Lions were up 14-0 and were set to receive the second-half kickoff, the Rebels came out the second half dominating on both sides up the ball scoring 25 unanswered points. The 25-14 victory now pits the McKenzie Rebels against East Tennessee rivals the South Pittsburg Pirates for the TSSAA Football State Championship. more
VANCOUVER, Washington (November 17) — Bethel’s Joseph Skoog finished as national runner-up in the 2023 Men’s Cross Country National Championship in Vancouver, Washington Friday afternoon. more
Stephen Brown, a lifelong McKenzie native and CSX engineer, had the recent honor of working the CSX Santa Train, which runs through parts of Kentucky, Virgina, and Tennessee along the Appalachian Trail. In its 81st year, the Santa Train carried approximately 13 tons of supplies to those along the 110-mile route, consisting of toys, food, wrapping paper, and stuffed backpacks. The train embarked on its 10-hour journey beginning in Pikeville, Kentucky and ending in Kingsport, Tenn. more

JACKSON (November 6) — The Jackson Clinic and Baptist Memorial Health Care hosted a grand opening for The Jackson Clinic-Baptist Outpatient Campus, a first-of-its-kind, 155,000 square-foot medical campus in Jackson, Tennessee. more
The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) selected two McKenzie natives and brothers as School System Administrators of the Year. more
With two weeks remaining in the 2023 football season, the Rebels are on the cusp of making a third consecutive trip to play for the TSSAA State Football Championship. To make it to the final round, McKenzie will have to battle it out in a rematch with the undefeated Dresden Lions. Two other teams have the same goal in mind, South Pittsburg and Oliver Springs. more

HUNTINGDON (November 2) — Quick action by two Huntingdon police officers, their dispatcher, and the Carroll County 911 system is credited for saving the life of a first grade student named Hunter Snider. more
McKENZIE (November 16) — McKenzie Lady Rebels won their opening contest for the 2023-24 season about the USJ Lady Bruins on Thursday, November 16. In the nightcap, McKenzie Rebels lost to the Bruins. The Rebels, in their second season game, lost to the Bruins. The Rebels have few players in the early season as they await the addition of players who also play on the football team. more
HUNTINGDON (November 17) — On Friday night, Huntingdon hosted Riverside at Paul Ward Stadium for the second matchup of the season between the two teams. Although the Mustangs defeated the Panthers the first time the two teams met on September 29, 22-15, a series of missed opportunities and untimely turnovers ended Huntingdon’s playoff advancement as they lost to Riverside, 24-7. more
LYNCHBURG (November 17) — On Friday night, in what promised to be one of the best games in the playoff series, the McKenzie Rebels and the Moore County Raiders did not disappoint. Coming down to the wire, McKenzie defeated Moore County 28-27 advancing to the semifinal round of the TSSAA Playoffs. The Rebels moved one step closer to an opportunity to play for a second state championship. more
HUNTINGDON — On the 10th of November 2023, the Carroll County Sheriff Department’s: Office of Reentry celebrated the graduation of their first five female offenders to complete an intensive cognitive-behavioral program called Moral Reconation Therapy, MRT for short. more
McKENZIE (November 9) — Savannah Davis chose to continue her athletic and academic career at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. The McKenzie High School senior signed commitment documents on Thursday to play basketball for the university. more
McKENZIE (November 10) — In honor of the nation’s military veterans, McKenzie High School hosted its annual Veterans Day program on Friday, November 10, 1 a.m. in the MHS Gymnasium. more
