The Bethel/Eastside Family and Community Education (FCE) met at the lake for their June 8 meeting. Seven ladies attended. Danita Laman called the meeting to order and read the Family and Community Education Club Prayer. Meeting hostess Gail Eubanks gave the devotion, using “Ask the Expert.” She quoted Bible verse Luke 11:10. The day’s thought was read, and last meeting’s minutes were read and approved. more

McKENZIE (October 12) — After two months of discussion, the McKenzie City Board of Mayor and Council voted against the de-annexation of Holland Farms, LLC by a split vote of 4-3. Voting against de-annexation were Councilpersons Bobby Young, Carol Armpriest and Tom Alexander; Mayor Ryan Griffin broke the tie with a no vote. Voting in favor of the Hollands were Councilpersons Charles Pruneau, Josefina Batton and Vice Mayor Jessie Townes. more
McKENZIE — Wednesday, December 20 was the date set for the Tennessee College of Applied Technology - McKenzie Class of 2023 Fall Graduation. McKENZIE (November 11) — Continuing a long-standing tradition, McKenzie High School hosted area veterans and presented a program to honor their service to America. The 10 a.m. ceremony on Veterans Day is conducted annually by the Student Government Association and features student presenters, the MHS Band and a featured speaker who served in the military. more
McKenzie and Huntingdon are gearing up for the annual Christmas parades taking place this season.
