McKenzie Farmers Market Reopens Saturday, June 4, 8 a.m., 2431 Cedar Street, in downtown McKenzie. The former Studebaker dealership was converted to an indoor/outdoor farmers market and allows area citizens to sell their homemade and homegrown foods and other products.

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology hosted its inaugural Tech Discovery Camp for rising eighth graders May 23-27. Fourteen students, recommended by McKenzie Middle School staff based on various criteria, spent the week rotating between four technical programs: Industrial Maintenance, Welding, Automotive, and Machine Tools. By the end of the week, each student spent a total of one day in each program.

MARTIN (May 24) — Auria McClerking, of Huntingdon, and Audrie Washburn, of McKenzie, recently completed the University of Tennessee at Martin Veterinary Health Technology Program’s academic requirements. The two are now qualified to complete a six-week field internship with a veterinary clinic or research facility.

ROCKVALE (MAY 24) — The Rebel Baseball team got underway in their first game of the tournament Tuesday at 6:30 at Rockvale High School with a threat of rain in the forecast. Runs came early as University School-JC hit a solo homer in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. University School scored another solo run in the bottom of the second making it a 2-0 lead.
