McKenzie Farmers Market Reopens Saturday, June 4, 8 a.m., 2431 Cedar Street, in downtown McKenzie. The former Studebaker dealership was converted to an indoor/outdoor farmers market and allows area citizens to sell their homemade and homegrown foods and other products. more

PARIS — After over two years, staff, patients, and visitors at Henry County Medical Center and its Medical Clinics are no longer required to wear masks. As of Wednesday, May 25, masking is now optional in these facilities. more

MILAN — Dynamix Physical Therapy was named the National Practice of the Year at the 2022 Ascend Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina. The conference was hosted by WebPT, a software company created for outpatient rehab companies.  more
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology hosted its inaugural Tech Discovery Camp for rising eighth graders May 23-27. Fourteen students, recommended by McKenzie Middle School staff based on various criteria, spent the week rotating between four technical programs: Industrial Maintenance, Welding, Automotive, and Machine Tools. By the end of the week, each student spent a total of one day in each program. more
MARTIN (May 24) — Auria McClerking, of Huntingdon, and Audrie Washburn, of McKenzie, recently completed the University of Tennessee at Martin Veterinary Health Technology Program’s academic requirements. The two are now qualified to complete a six-week field internship with a veterinary clinic or research facility. more

MARTIN (May 25) — Austin Maxwell, of McKenzie, was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army during a ceremony May 6 at the University of Tennessee at Martin. more
Owen Crocker and Tate Crews were chosen from Hollow Rock-Bruceton High School to represent the American Legion Post 180 at Boys State 2022. Michael Crosby will act as an alternate to Crocker and Crews for the program. more
PARIS (May 23) — Austin (AJ) Maxwell, a Survey Technician at L.I. Smith and Associates (LIS), received the Tennessee Association of Professional Surveyors (TAPS) Student of the Year Award. Maxwell received this award on March 4.  more
McKenzie/University School-Johnson City ROCKVALE (MAY 24) — The Rebel Baseball team got underway in their first game of the tournament Tuesday at 6:30 at Rockvale High School with a threat of rain in the forecast. Runs came early as University School-JC hit a solo homer in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. University School scored another solo run in the bottom of the second making it a 2-0 lead. more

MURFREESBORO — After defeating Memphis School of Excellence and Martin Westview to win the Region tournament, the McKenzie Rebels hosted Memphis East at Bethel University Stadium for the right to advance to the State Tournament. more
Theft — Officer Kyle Beauchamp responded to Hillview Apartments on May 23 on a report of two pay-per-use clothes washing machines were broken into and the cash stolen. more
