HUNTINGDON (September 13) — On Friday night, the Huntingdon Mustangs picked up their second win of the season as they played host to the Columbia Academy Bulldogs. It was a game of pending rain showers with the perpetual lightning of yellow flags. The first quarter was a tight back-and-forth but like a diesel engine, the Mustang offense and defense heated up to roar away with the 42-20 win.

McKENZIE (September 11) — Construction has begun at the Carroll County Airport for the air medical base service known as Hospital Wing. During the August 2024 meeting of the Carroll County Commission, a lease between Carroll County and Med-Trans Corporation was ratified with Med-Trans stating construction would begin immediately.

McKENZIE (September 12) — The McKenzie City Council approved a bid of $77,140 to resurface Eastwood Drive in McKenzie. Eastwood Dr., which runs adjacent to Tennessee College of Applied Technology in McKenzie and connects to Hwy 79 and Hwy 423, will be resurfaced by Martin Paving Company of Medina. The only other bid submitted was by Arrow Paving in Lexington of Lexington at $80,000.

McKENZIE (September 13) — The McKenzie High School Rebels began region play Friday as they hosted the McEwen Warriors for another rainy affair at Randy Thomas Field. McEwen mustered an early touchdown for a 7-7 tie, but the Rebels ran away for a 49-7 victory.
