McKenzie’s Brett Toombs Awarded McLean-Pedersen Scholarship

PARIS (June 17) — The Paris and Henry County Healthcare Foundation announced Brett Toombs, 2024 graduate of McKenzie High School, as the recipient of the 2024 McLean-Pedersen Endowment Scholarship. Toombs will attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the fall, where she plans to major in Physical Therapy.

The McLean-Pedersen Endowment Scholarship, established to support students pursuing careers in the healthcare field, offers a total of $6,000, payable over four years at $1,500 per year. This scholarship is awarded to one deserving McKenzie High School student each year, aiming to foster the next generation of healthcare professionals in Tennessee. Eligible fields of study include nursing, radiology technology, paramedic training, physical therapy technology, and respiratory technology.

Toombs was selected for this prestigious scholarship based on her academic achievements, dedication to her community, and commitment to pursuing a career in physical therapy. Throughout her time at McKenzie High School, Toombs demonstrated exemplary performance and a passion for helping others, making her an outstanding choice for this award.

The scholarship requires recipients to maintain a 2.75 grade point average to continue receiving the annual funds.
