FCE Celebrates Members at Spring Rally Awards Luncheon
From the Jun 2, 2026 e-EditionThe Carroll County Family and Community Education (FCE) Spring Rally Awards Luncheon was May 28. Eleven members attended for a day of fellowship, inspiration and recognition.
The event began with a welcome and devotion led by Carroll County Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, Lacy Yeley. Members then enjoyed a special presentation from guest speaker Pam Harris, retired educator and author. Harris shared valuable resources, tips and strategies for individuals living with vision loss, as well as for their family members and friends.
After becoming legally blind in 2020 due to advanced myopic macular degeneration, Harris found herself unable to participate in many of the activities she once loved.
During her presentation, she spoke about her personal journey to acceptance and shared the techniques and skills she has learned to help her live a more independent and fulfilling life.
Members enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by this year’s hostesses, the Macedonia Club.
Following lunch, achievement awards were presented to members who participated in the annual reading program and to those who maintained perfect attendance throughout the year. Special recognition was also given to Gail Eubanks and Danita Laman, who each received pins honoring 45 years of FCE membership and service.
Members also entered items in the Cultural Arts and Fashion Review competitions. First and second place winners will advance to regional judging, which is August 12 in Jackson.
The Spring Rally Awards Luncheon provided members with an opportunity to learn, celebrate accomplishments and enjoy fellowship together.
