Huntingdon to Host Spookfest October 14
From the Sep 30, 2025 e-EditionThe Town of Huntingdon, the Carroll County Prevention Coalition, the Nolan and Courtney Turner Memorial Fund and the Carl Perkins Center host Huntingdon’s first Spookfest at the Kelley Sports Complex on Tuesday, October 14.
This community Halloween event is right in the middle of Carroll County schools’ fall breaks and features a trunk-or-treat, outdoor movie, concessions, vendors and games for families to enjoy together.
The trunk-or-treat event begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by an outdoor showing of “Hocus Pocus” on the sports field at 7:30 p.m.
Last year, Huntingdon hosted Halloween Movie Night on the Square. The event reached capacity, setting a precedent for future Halloween-themed events. Because of its success, the Huntingdon community decided to transform “Halloween Movie Night on the Square” into “Spookfest” and move the event from Huntingdon’s Court Square to the Kelley Sports Complex.
In September’s town hall meeting, coordinator Jesse Turner said he hopes Spookfest will grow into a tradition for years to come.
Turner, Heather Foster and Madison Utley ask for individuals or business sponsorships in anticipation of the event. Sponsors may set up a trunk at the trunk-or-treat or help sponsor food or concessions in the amount of $250, $500 or $1,000 to help serve families at the event.
In the event of inclement weather, Spookfest will move to the Carroll County Civic Center.
