Joneses Celebrate 61st Anniversary

Clarence and Essie Jones of Memphis recently marked their 61st wedding anniversary. The two were married on May 19, 1965.
Clarence and Essie are graduates of Webb High School in McKenzie, in 1960 and 1963, respectively.
Clarence, a McKenzie native, served for eight years in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from Memphis State University in 1972. He taught and coached in the Memphis City school system for 32 years.
Essie, a Trezevant native, graduated from Murray State University in 1968 and worked in the Tennessee Department of Employment Security for 42 years as a counselor and assistant manager.
The couple have three children, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
