Ribbon-Cutting Held at The Happy Book Stack
From the Sep 16, 2025 e-Edition
McKENZIE (September 13) --- A ribbon-cutting was held at The Happy Book Stack McKenzie Saturday afternoon, hosted by the McKenzie Chamber of Commerce.
In attendance were the shop's staff, Store Manager Stephanie McClerkin, owner David Jacobs and many business and community leaders, including McKenzie Mayor Ryan Griffin.
Since opening on June 9, The Happy Book Stack has expanded its hours, offerings and staff.
Led by McClerkin, the shop employs 18 and recently added new coffee flavors, soups and plant-based Lotus energy drinks. The newest innovation is flight boards with a sampling of four different drinks for $10.
McClerkin told The Banner that the support has been amazing since opening.
The store hosts events such as crafts, worship nights, trivia and live music.
The Happy Book Stack is also currently hosting a pop-up McKenzie High School memorabilia exhibit.
Jacobs told The Banner, "The most fun thing about all of this has been building all of this in a building this old that has this much natural beauty. The most fulfilling part is seeing a lot of the staff taking ownership of the store, taking pride in the community, taking this to the next level. It really is their work and what they've done that has made this what it is. I look forward to this becoming more and more of a community space. People young and old can get together and have fun with events and live music, really just enjoy themselves in the context of community."
The Happy Book Stack is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
