TCAT Construction Updates
Ridgeway Anticipates January Move-In Date
From the Sep 30, 2025 e-Edition
Construction is on track at the new Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Henry/Carroll building in McKenzie. BELL Construction recently graded and dried in the 20,000 square-foot administration and academic facility, making the building weather-tight just in time for autumn rain showers.
TCAT Henry/Carroll President John Penn Ridgeway said, “We are thrilled to see such great progress on the nearly 20,000 square-foot administration and academic facility at our McKenzie campus...This project represents a major investment in the future of our students and community.”
As construction moves along, Ridgeway anticipates TCAT offices will move into the new building in January 2026. The original campus administration building, which is still in use, is scheduled to be demolished by May 2026.
Once complete, the new facility will house TCAT Student Services, administrative and business offices, a bookstore and an Administrative Office Technology program. Ridgeway revealed that, by fall 2026, the school will expand its academic offerings with a new allied health program.
The new academic and administrative facility is part of a larger $1 billion investment in TCAT campuses across Tennessee and represents a major step forward for the McKenzie campus, according to a BELL Construction representative.
The new facility stands in front of McKenzie’s current TCAT campus at 16940 Highland Drive.
