Nineteen War Eagles Honored During Senior Night

ATWOOD (October 24) — Just before the game against the Liberty Tech Magnet Crusaders, the West Carroll War Eagles held a special recognition ceremony for their senior football players and managers, cheerleaders and band members.
Each senior received a rose and a special plaque from their peers. Football seniors’ plaques were football-shaped and listed their names and player numbers. Senior cheerleaders’ plaques were in the shape of a megaphone and had their first names on them. Senior band members received framed silhouette portraits of themselves with their names and graduation year printed on them.
Six football players and managers were honored.
Manager Elissa King, of Cedar Grove, was escorted by her parents Erin and Jeremy Spain. After high school, King plans on going into the workforce.
Manager Hayden Wingo, of Trezevant, was escorted by his parents Melanie King and Chris Wingo. After high school, Wingo plans to attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville to major in education and pursue a career in coaching.
Joesph Brogdon, #24, of Lavinia, was escorted by his parents Jeremy and Chelcy Thurmond and his siblings. After high school, Brogdon plans to play football in college and pursue a career in agricultural engineering.
Nigel Butler, #35, of McLemoresville, was escorted by his step-mom and dad Emily Foster and Ricky Butler and his mom Tacurra Graves. After high school, Butler plans to enter the workforce or pursue sports in college.
Eli Travelstead, #5, of Atwood, was escorted by his dad Bud Travelstead and his grandmother Sue Barnes.
Chance Weatherford, #20, of Atwood, was escorted by his grandmother Mary Collins. After high school, Weatherford plans to further his education.
Seven cheerleaders were honored.
Lesley Baker, of Cedar Grove, was escorted by her grandparents Gene and Robin Drinkard. After high school, Baker plans to attend college and pursue a career in travel sonography.
Kahli Baum, of Milan, was escorted by her parents Justin and Jesse Baum. After high school, Baum plans to attend college and major in criminal justice.
Jada Nicholes, of Cedar Grove, was escorted by her parents Jacinta and Rodney Nicholes. After high school, Nicholes plans to attend college and pursue a career as an ultrasound technician.
Hannah Pinson, of Christmasville, was escorted by her parents Eric and Wendy Pinson and her brother. Pinson will graduate with her associate’s degree in the spring and plans to attend Freed Hardeman University to pursue a degree in nursing. She plans to become a NICU nurse.
Brylie Sacks, of Trezevant, was escorted by her mom Lisa Stout. After high school, Sacks plans to attend university and major in forensic psychology.
Britni Shepherd, of Cedar Grove, was escorted by her grandparents Judy and Mickey Keen. Shepherd will graduate with her associate’s degree in the spring and plans to continue her education and pursue a degree in healthcare administration. She plans to become an MRI technician.
Hayden Weaver, of Trezevant, was escorted by her parents Chris and Kelly Weaver. After high school, Weaver plans to attend college and major in athletic training or women’s health.
Six band members were honored.
Kalee Coleman, of Atwood, was escorted by her parents Rick and Tasha Coleman. After high school, Coleman plans to attend college and pursue a career as a pediatric psychiatrist.
Anthony Dodd, of Cedar Grove, was escorted by his parents Mery and Nick Dodd. After high school, Dodd plans to study aerodynamics engineering in college and join the United States Air Force.
Braden Joyner, of Cedar Grove, was escorted by his parents Todd and Jamie Joyner and his brother. After high school, Joyner plans to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin and pursue a career as a pharmacist.
Eli Neel, of McLemoresville, was escorted by his mom Sally Martin. After high school, Neel plans to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin and major in criminal justice.
Emma Stout, of Atwood, was escorted by her parents Tammy and Jeff Stout. After high school, Stout plans to pursue a degree in psychology.
Brylan Wilbanks, of Atwood, was escorted by her parents David and Cindi Wilbanks and her niece. After high school, Wilbanks will attend Duke University to study psychology.
Nineteen total students were recognized in the Senior Night ceremony.
