ATWOOD (September 4) — The West Carroll Special School District recently recognized staff members who have each served 20 or more years in the district. Representing all three campuses, these individuals were honored for their long-term contributions to student learning and school culture.
Dr. Jessica Williams, WCES principal stated, “We are proud to have such a large group of teachers and staff who have worked at West Carroll Elementary School for over twenty years. These educators have built lasting relationships in the West Carroll community that benefit our students, families and school culture. We are grateful for their longevity and their commitment to our students’ success.”
The following team members were honored for their long-term service: high school employees Linda Hatfield and Bernard Lykes; primary school employees Angie Morris, Sherry Haywood, Jackie Wester, Sharlanda Emerson, Jeanie Hooper, Brandi Tolley and Gerald Mauldin; and elementary school employees Sheila Hilliard, Barbara Coleman, Shanna Pafford, Sherry Cobb, Tammy Lovell, Marcia Miller, Tina Seaton, Beth Bridges, Jonathan Wheeler and Sherry Cockrill.
Many of these educators and staff members have worked with students across multiple generations. Several are now teaching children whose parents were once in their classrooms.
“These employees have served with steady leadership and a strong sense of purpose,” said Director of Schools Preston Caldwell. “They know our schools, our families and the community we serve.”
The district-wide recognition reflects West Carroll’s appreciation for those who have supported students year after year and contributed to the continuity of school culture and community engagement.
These staff members represent an important part of the district’s story, helping maintain the small-school environment that is central to West Carroll’s mission of preparing students for life beyond the classroom.
