ATWOOD (September 23) — West Carroll Elementary School has recognized outstanding student achievement through its SOAR Awards program, honoring students who exemplify the school’s core values of safety, ownership, achievement and respect for weeks three and four.

The SOAR Awards celebrate students for their academic effort, positive character and contributions to the school community. This initiative highlights individuals who consistently demonstrate the school’s guiding principles.

For week three, fourth-grader Gage Tolley received the SOAR award for accumulating the highest number of Class Dojo points among all West Carroll Elementary students. His teacher, Mrs. Beth Hysmith, noted Gage’s dedication. She said, “Gage is a very hardworking student who always tries his best. He takes initiative by starting tasks on his own, asking great questions and helping others when needed. He is responsible, is dependable and shows leadership by setting a good example for his classmates.”

Brooklynn Hilliard, also a fourth-grader in Mrs. Hysmith’s class, received the week four SOAR award for earning the most Class Dojo points. Mrs. Hysmith commented on Brooklynn’s exemplary conduct. She said, “Brooklynn is a wonderful student who always follows the rules and sets a great example for her classmates. She works hard on every assignment, stays focused and shows respect to her teachers and peers. Her positive attitude and dedication make her a role model in the classroom.”

Additionally, fifth-grader Oakley Lents received nominations weeks three and four. Ms. Emily Bloodworth commended Oakley’s character. She said, “Oakley is such a joy to have in class. She is always so sweet, respectful and polite, and her kindness shines through in the way she treats both her classmates and teachers. I can count on her to listen attentively, use good manners and set a positive example for others. Her thoughtful attitude helps create a welcoming classroom environment, and I truly appreciate the way she contributes to making our class a warm and supportive place.”

West Carroll Elementary commends these students for their commitment to excellence and for embodying the values that make the school community thrive.
