West Carroll Elementary School Recognizes Weekly SOAR Students
From the Sep 16, 2025 e-Edition
West Carroll Elementary School continues its tradition of celebrating outstanding students through the SOAR Awards program. The initiative recognizes students who demonstrate the school’s core values of safety, ownership, achievement and respect. Each week, students are honored for their academic effort, positive character and contributions to the school community.
The week one SOAR Award was presented to Landon Moffler, a third grader who earned the highest number of dojo points on ClassDojo for the week. Third grade teacher Mrs. Lindsey Lindsay praised Landon’s positive influence in the classroom.
“We are proud to honor Landon as a SOAR student,” said Lindsay. “He brightens our classroom every day with his positive energy, enthusiasm and willingness to help others. Whether it’s lending a hand to classmates, participating eagerly in discussions or spreading kindness with a smile, Landon makes our learning community stronger and happier.”
The week two award went to Chris James, also a third-grade student, who was recognized for his impressive dojo points. Mrs. Lindsay shared her thoughts on Chris, noting his kind spirit.
“Chris shines brightly through his kindness, hard work and gentle presence,” said Lindsay. “He is always showing respect and thoughtfulness to classmates and teachers. As his teachers, we look forward to getting to know more about the wonderful person he is becoming.”
One student was nominated by teachers and staff for recognition across both weeks. That honor went to Olivia Willis, a sixth-grade student. Sixth grade teacher Mrs. Shanna Pafford spoke highly of Olivia’s leadership and character.
“Olivia is a bright, creative student who always chooses the right path,” said Pafford. “She exemplifies safety, ownership, achievement and respect in and outside of the classroom.”
Through the SOAR Awards, West Carroll Elementary School continues to highlight the achievements and positive contributions of its students, encouraging them to serve as role models for their peers.
