McKenzie Church of Christ Free Spaghetti Supper The McKenzie Church of Christ is hosting a FREE spaghetti supper at their building on Highland Drive on Thursday, November 2, 5-7 p.m. (or until all food is gone). Dining-in is available or drive-thru if you want to pick it up and go home to eat. The menu consists of spaghetti, crackers, dessert and a drink (drink for dining in only). The McKenzie Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is hosting their annual Fall Festival Fundraiser on Saturday, October 28 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at McKenzie Elementary School. There is no entry fee and this event is open to the public. There is a Silent Auction full of themed baskets and local business certificates and goodies, a Cake Walk, a Costume Contest and prizes for grades Pre-K-4th, food, sweet treats and games. McKENZIE (October 10) — The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the arrest of 28-year-old Alec Akin. Akin was charged with three counts of tax evasion and one count of theft for filing false documents related to transactions on personal vehicles. more

McKENZIE (October 21) — The McKenzie Police and Fire Departments worked with Hometown Hangout to raise funds for Christmas for Kids. Firefighters and police officers were on hand taking part in a meet-and-greet with community members with police vehicles and fire trucks on the scene. They also helped serve and work the carry-out orders. A bounce house and slide were also provided for the youth. more

McKENZIE, Tenn. — Funeral services for James Robert “Bobby” McDonald are Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 12 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, 10 a.m. until service time. Interment is at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Reverends Trisha and Alan Trull will be the officiants, and Randal Lusk, Casey Drewry, Tommy Berryhill, Marshall Russell, Roger Reed, Russel McDonald and Walker Ashley will serve as pallbearers. more
