The opener was close for three quarters, but the Lady Rebels pulled away in the fourth for a 61-37 win. After a tight first half, the Rebels had the momentum in the third, but had to hold off a fervent War Eagle rally in the fourth to claim a 59-53 victory.

DRESDEN (January 23) — Dresden High School hosted West Carroll Friday for a pair of basketball contests. The Lady Lions took an early lead en route to a 52-35 win. The War Eagles had an edge at the half, but the Lions took control in the third for a 67-45 victory.

The barnburner saw momentum swings culminating in a wild fourth quarter rife with lead changes, an exciting nightcap for a full day of games determining final tournament placement.

BRUCETON (December 18) — Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School hosted West Carroll Thursday for a pair of basketball contests. The opener was tight through three quarters, but the Lady Tigers pulled away in the final frame for a 48-35 win. The Tigers coasted to a 49-21 victory in the nightcap. It was also Senior Night at Central. Between games, senior basketball players, managers and cheerleaders were recognized on the court with family members.

ATWOOD (December 16) — West Carroll High School hosted Greenfield Tuesday for a pair of basketball contests. The Lady War Eagles were unable to overcome a big first-quarter deficit despite playing Greenfield even for the final three frames, and the Lady Yellowjackets took the win, 69-54. The War Eagles shook off a double-digit halftime deficit with a monster third quarter and claimed a 47-44 win, their first of the young season.
